Why use Program?
If you do not have a large flea infestation and your pet doesn't come into contact with other pets very often, Program® is the product for you.
Program® is an oral preparation (tablet or liquid) given monthly. There are no chemicals applied to the pets skin and therefore, no worry about rain or grooming the product off. Economically, this product runs about 25% cheaper than the alternatives and if your situation allows you to use this, you could save a bit of money. This product does not kill adult fleas, but instead inhibits the eggs that the adult lays from hatching. We do recommend that you treat your home with a product similar to Fleabusters powder as well as bathing your pet with a flea shampoo prior to treatment to kill any adult fleas.
In Short.....If you have a household pet who contacts other pets infrequently and is only in danger of picking up a flea once in a while, this is the product for you. If you live in a more temperate climate and have a more social pet, You should choose an alternate product such as Frontline Plus or Advantage for your flea prevention needs.
